Loading Events
Ace your race! Learn the secrets and basics for your first race, or build a triathlon vocabulary for your season. Come to Boulder City pool for a morning of swimming, biking, and learning the ropes of tri-sport.
On April 6th Robert Picardo, one of the area’s first triathletes and the swim safety coordinator for the Las Vegas triathlon club, will host a morning clinic on all things triathlon.
We start at 7:30 am at Boulder City pool for open water training. Starting with a short stroke assessment, we move on to swimming with others, drafting, buoy turns, sighting, and strategy. Learn to relax in open water and how to maximize your swim with the least amount of effort.
At 9 am we move on to the bike and T1 and T2. Topics include swim to run, bike efficiency, shifting, descending, feeding, and bike to run transition.
A must-have tutorial for your first race or season, this class will show you how to maximize and enjoy your time in the sport. Don’t make your first triathlons a blur, make them a statement!
Here’s the details to participate:
-Sign up to use the Boulder City pool online (https://bcrec.recdesk.com/community/home) or in person the morning of.
– The swim will be run as a BC parks class and the cost should not be more than $5.00.
– Bring your gear- everything but a wetsuit, we won’t need those. From there we move to a natural transition area just off the River Mt. trail.
– Be aware that this will not be a “workout” in the traditional sense, but an intellectual and practical exercise.
