Practice Tri at Boulder Beach

Loading Events

Join us at Boulder Beach for an introduction to Triathlon. This is geared towards the first time triathlete looking for some instruction on the course.

You must be a LVTC Club Member to participate in this clinic.

The purpose of this walk-through triathlon is to prepare new triathletes for their first competitive triathlon by actually going through all the steps of a triathlon, slowly and methodically, under instruction. There’s an old adage in education that states “What I hear, I forget. What I see, I remember. What I do, I understand.”
In this exercise, we’re going to walk through all three legs of a triathlon, including transitions, discussing what to expect and how to conduct yourselves in the triathlon from start to finish. The swim, bike, and run portions of this exercise will be shortened segments. The focus will be on understanding what to expect, how to prepare, and how to deal with issues that commonly arise. We will do the entire exercise together, without competition, and without watches or concern for performance.
The goal of this exercise is to reduce apprehension and remove some unknowns, ultimately giving new triathletes more confidence in their ability to complete their first triathlon.
Meet at 8:30 am, in the water at 9 am.
What you should bring:
Your wetsuit and goggles, bike and biking and running gear, two towels, (or a towel and a mat to stand on) and if you were going to run and ride in something other than a tri suit, bring the clothes for your riding and running. No need for a watch, as this is not a race!
