I was first introduced to the triathlon world through my sister, Ashley. After years of watching and cheering her on, I got the bug. Watching her complete at Ironman World Championship in Kona was one of the most inspiring events of my life. I am part of a very athletic family: my mother is a 3-time Boston Marathon Qualifier, my father has Michael Phelps skills in the water, and my sister could give Lance Armstrong a run for his money on the bike. However, life caused me to put my active lifestyle on hold. In 2014, at my peak of 258 lbs, I decided to make a change- I started training for my first triathlon. Through good eating habits and my training, I lost 75 lbs and completed my first triathlon. After my sister won Overall Amateur Female title at Ironman 70.3 World Championship Mont Tremblant in 2014, I told myself “it’s time to get motivated”. I decided to step up my training and dedication to the sport.
While training and competing, I noticed there was a lack of unique kits. Nothing caught my attention, everything was a solid color or the same 2-tone patterns. During my long training sessions, as my bicycle wheels were turning so were my creative wheels. A year later The Tri Source was born. I received my Ironman Coaching Certification and we started offering custom designed kits, awesome t-shirts, and personalized Ironman Certified coaching. In the latter of the 2016 triathlon season, Team Tri Source was created to support a community of competitive, fun, and energetic triathletes. Our moto “You don’t have to be the fastest triathlete to be the ”best”. Being the ”best” is just about wanting to be better.”
